1. Surface preparation
Before applying the product, ensure the wheels are dry or slightly damp, but not wet. If the wheels are hot (e.g. after riding), wait until they cool to room temperature. Do not use the product in direct sunlight or on hot surfaces, as this may reduce foam effectiveness and cause streaking.
2. Foam application
Shake the can well for a few seconds before use. Holding the can in any position (the 360° valve allows use at any angle), spray the foam evenly across the entire wheel surface. No need to be precise – the foam spreads across the surface thanks to its consistency. Ensure all contaminated areas are covered, paying particular attention to areas most prone to brake dust build-up.
3. Dwell time
Leave the foam on the wheels for approximately 2 minutes. During this time, the active ingredients penetrate the contamination and break down deposits. Notice the foam changing colour? This indicates the product is working and dissolving dirt. Do not allow the foam to dry on the surface – if you notice it starting to dry, lightly mist it with water.
4. Removing stubborn contamination
For heavily soiled wheels, you may gently wipe the wheel with a soft brush, sponge or microfibre cloth. Do not scrub too hard – the foam has done most of the work, so light agitation is sufficient to remove remaining dirt. Avoid using hard brushes or pressure washers directly after foam application.
5. Rinsing
Rinse the wheel thoroughly with clean water, ensuring all foam and dissolved dirt are washed away. You may use a hose, pressure washer (at moderate pressure) or simply buckets of water. Ensure no product residue remains in crevices or hard-to-reach areas.
6. Drying
After rinsing, you may leave the wheels to air dry naturally or dry them with a clean, dry microfibre cloth. Drying prevents water spots, particularly in hard water areas. Dry wheels will shine even more.

After riding in mud, rain or on off-road trails, we recommend cleaning immediately upon return. The more frequently you clean your wheels, the easier contamination removes with subsequent washes.
Does the product require neutralisation or rinsing with special agents?
No, OC1 Wheel Cleaner does not require neutralisation or rinsing with special agents. Thorough rinsing with clean water is sufficient. This saves time and makes the cleaning process even simpler and more convenient, even in field conditions.
Can I use this product on other parts of my motorcycle/bicycle?
This cleaning product has been designed specifically for cleaning wheels and hubs. Although it is safe for many surfaces, for cleaning other vehicle parts we recommend using dedicated products from the OC1 range, such as Offroad Cleaner, Motorcycle Cleaner or Bike Cleaner, which are optimised for plastic, metal and other materials.
How many washes does one 500 ml can provide?
Product efficiency depends on the level of contamination and wheel size. On average, one 500 ml can provides approximately 15–20 thorough cleans of both motorcycle or bicycle wheels. With light contamination, the number of washes may be even higher.
Is the product safe for brakes and the braking system?
Yes, OC1 Wheel Cleaner is safe for the braking system. It does not damage brake pads, discs or seals. However, always exercise caution during application and avoid spraying the product directly onto brake pads. If the product contacts the pads, rinse them thoroughly with water.
What should I do if the foam dries on the wheels before rinsing?
If you notice the foam starting to dry (which may occur on hot, sunny days), simply mist it lightly with water to reactivate it. Then rinse the wheels according to the instructions. To avoid this issue, try not to apply the product in full sun or on hot surfaces.
Can the product be used in winter and at low temperatures?
The product can be used at low temperatures, provided it is not frozen. Before use, ensure the can is at room temperature and the wheels are not iced over. Store the product at 5–25 °C according to manufacturer recommendations to maintain full effectiveness.
Does Wheel Cleaner protect wheels against future contamination?

Does the product also remove rust from wheels?
This cleaning product effectively removes surface deposits and contamination, including early corrosion and rust traces. However, for deeply advanced rust, specialist corrosion removal products or mechanical cleaning may be required. Does the 360° valve really work at any angle?
