A clean filter is the heart of your motorcycle
The air filter is an element that's easy to forget – until the engine loses power and fuel starts evaporating faster than it should. A dirty filter isn't just an aesthetic problem. It means reduced power, higher fuel consumption and shortened engine life. In extreme off-road conditions, where dust, sand and mud attack the filter on every ride, proper maintenance isn't optional – it's essential.
Air Filter Cleaner is a professional air filter cleaning agent that regenerates the filter without risking damage to the delicate foam structure. You don't need to be a mechanic to care for one of the most important elements of your motorcycle. Just a few minutes, and your filter will be ready for further riding.
Main properties of Air Filter Cleaner
Air Filter Cleaner combines effectiveness with filter safety. The unique formula was designed for maximum regeneration without risk of damage.
- Special dissolving formula – active ingredients penetrate deep into the filter structure, dissolving even the most stubborn oils and dirt where ordinary detergents fail.
- Safe for foam and adhesive – effectively removes dirt without damaging the delicate foam structure or filter mounting, allowing you to regenerate the same filter multiple times.
- Fast action – just 3-4 minutes of soaking is enough for the formula to penetrate contamination, saving time and eliminating the need for brush scrubbing.
- Extremely tested – developed and tested by European motocross riders, including Max Nagl – German MX-GP champion.

Who should use it?
Air filter cleaner is an investment for anyone who takes their machine seriously. Off-road enthusiasts who regularly go out for enduro or motocross push hundreds of liters of dusty air through the filter — systematic cleaning can save several thousand zlotys annually on engine parts. In professional environments filter maintenance after every training session is standard, which is why top racing teams rely on proven regeneration systems without compromise.
For equipment-conscious owners, a clean filter is a direct path to cheaper servicing — contaminants entering the engine accelerate piston and cylinder wear, resulting in costly repairs. Families with multiple vehicles will appreciate the economic aspect: one liter of fluid is enough for many regenerations, making it a sensible choice for regular equipment use.
When to use Air Filter Cleaner?
Regular filter cleaning is a basic maintenance element that extends engine life and maintains full power.
- After riding in extreme mud or sand – one pass through deep sand or muddy ruts can completely clog the filter and cause power loss.
- Every 3-5 hours of riding in normal conditions – even when riding on paved trails, the filter gradually accumulates dust and fine contaminants.
- Before competitions or important trips – professionals never go on track with an old filter, because a clean, oil-soaked filter guarantees full power from the first corner.
- Always before soaking with fresh oil – applying fresh oil on a dirty filter is a waste of time, as old dirt and oil create an impermeable layer blocking airflow.

How does it work in practice?
OC1 Air Filter Cleaner uses an advanced penetrating formula that works at the molecular level. Active ingredients penetrate deep into the foam structure, dissolving both oil and solid contaminants. Unlike ordinary detergents that only work on the surface, this cleaning agent reaches every foam cell, removing even microscopic particles of dust and oil.
Importantly, the formula doesn't attack the foam or adhesive that bonds the filter to its base. This is crucial, because a damaged filter isn't just a waste of money – it's a risk of contaminants entering directly into the engine.

1. Remove filter and clear loose dirt
Remove the air filter from its housing. Gently shake off or blow away loose sand and larger dirt particles. You can use a soft brush, but avoid aggressive scrubbing – you don't want to damage the foam before cleaning.
2. Prepare a container with fluid
Pour Air Filter Cleaner fluid into a clean bucket or bowl. Make sure there is enough fluid to completely submerge the filter. Do not dilute the product with water – it works best in concentrated form.
3. Submerge filter for 3-4 minutes
Place the filter in the container and ensure it is completely covered with fluid. Leave for 3-4 minutes to let the formula penetrate the dirt. During this time you can prepare water for rinsing or make yourself a coffee – the product works on its own.
4. Gently squeeze out dirt
Put on protective gloves (this is important!) and gently knead the filter, helping to loosen the dirt. Don't wring the filter like a wet rag – this can damage the foam or tear the adhesive. A few squeezes and releases are enough.
5. Rinse with clean water
Rinse the filter in warm water, then thoroughly rinse with cold water until the water runs completely clear. This is a crucial step – fluid residue can affect the oil you'll apply to the filter later.
6. Dry completely before applying oil
Leave the filter to dry completely. Best to hang it or place it on paper towel in a well-ventilated area. Don't use a heater or blower – excessive temperature can damage the foam. Complete drying is essential for effective oil absorption.
Important
Don't use on hot surfaces – filter must be cool before cleaning
Always work with gloves – the product is strong and may irritate skin
Don't let the fluid dry on the filter – always rinse before it dries
Tip
If the filter was very dirty and you still see discoloration after first cleaning, repeat the process. Stubborn dirt may require double soaking, especially if the filter hasn't been cleaned for a long time. Better to spend an extra 5 minutes than risk incomplete cleaning.
After cleaning, always apply OC1 Air Filter Oil to the filter before installation. A clean but unoiled filter doesn't protect the engine – on the contrary, it can let contaminants pass directly into the intake system.
How often should I clean my air filter?
Cleaning frequency depends on riding conditions. After riding in extreme mud or deep sand, the filter requires immediate cleaning. In normal off-road conditions, we recommend cleaning every 3-5 hours of riding. If you notice power loss or the motorcycle is "choking", that's a sign the filter needs regeneration. Professionals clean filters after every training session or race.
Can I use Air Filter Cleaner on all types of foam filters?
Yes, Air Filter Cleaner is safe for all types of foam filters, regardless of manufacturer or motorcycle model. The formula was designed not to damage foam or mounting adhesive. It works equally effectively on filters for enduro motorcycles, motocross bikes, quads and other off-road vehicles.
Do I have to wear gloves when cleaning the filter?
Yes, we strongly recommend wearing protective gloves. Air Filter Cleaner is a powerful cleaning agent that effectively dissolves oils and greases – including the natural protective oils in your skin. Working without gloves can lead to irritation and dry hands. This is a professional product, so treat it with appropriate caution.
How many times can I reuse the same fluid for cleaning multiple filters?
Air Filter Cleaner loses effectiveness after first use as it becomes saturated with dissolved dirt and oil. We recommend using fresh fluid each time. Attempting to reuse may lead to incomplete filter cleaning, and consequently to engine problems.
What to do if the filter is still dirty after first cleaning?
If you still see discoloration after first cleaning or feel the filter isn't completely clean, repeat the entire process. Very dirty or long-neglected filters may require double soaking. Better to spend a few extra minutes than risk incomplete cleaning that will affect engine performance.
Can I clean the filter with regular petrol or kerosene?
We don't recommend cleaning filters with petrol, kerosene or other petroleum solvents. Such substances can damage the foam structure and weaken the mounting adhesive. Additionally, petrol residue can react with filter oil, reducing its effectiveness. OC1 Air Filter Cleaner was designed specifically for this task – it's a safe and effective alternative.
How long does the filter need to dry after cleaning?
Drying time depends on conditions – air temperature and humidity. In a well-ventilated room, the filter may dry within 4-6 hours. In cooler or humid conditions, it may take overnight. Complete drying before oil application is crucial – a wet filter won't absorb oil properly, reducing its protective effectiveness.
Do I have to use OC1 Air Filter Oil, or can I use another brand?
Air Filter Cleaner works with any air filter oil, but you'll get best results using it paired with OC1 Air Filter Oil. These products were designed as a system – the cleaner formula leaves no residue that could affect oil performance. Other oils will also work, but the OC1 system guarantees optimal engine protection.
How to store Air Filter Cleaner?
Store the product in its original packaging, at 5-25°C, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Keep out of reach of children and animals. After use, tighten the cap well to prevent evaporation and maintain full product effectiveness.
Is Air Filter Cleaner environmentally safe?
OC1 Air Filter Cleaner formula contains no chlorinated solvents and was designed to minimize environmental impact. After rinsing and dilution with water, it can be safely discharged to sewage. However, don't pour unused product directly onto ground or into water bodies – it's a strong chemical agent and requires proper disposal.
Can I use Air Filter Cleaner to clean other motorcycle parts?
Air Filter Cleaner is designed exclusively for cleaning foam filters. Don't use it on painted surfaces, fairing plastics or other motorcycle parts. For those applications, use appropriate OC1 products such as Offroad Cleaner or Motorcycle Cleaner, which are safe for all surfaces.
What to do if the product accidentally dries on the filter?
If the product dries on the filter, immediately soak it again in fresh Air Filter Cleaner for 5-10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with water. Dried product can leave residue that reduces filter permeability. That's why it's so important not to let the fluid dry during the cleaning process.
