Professional regeneration tailored to your needs

In the world of motorsport and professional workshops, an air filter isn't an accessory – it's a key element affecting performance. Dirty filters mean power loss of up to 15%, increased fuel consumption and accelerated engine aging. For racing teams, where every training session requires a fresh filter, and for workshops servicing dozens of vehicles monthly, economy and reliability of the regeneration process are crucial.

Air Filter Cleaner 5 l is a solution created with intensive use in mind. It's not just a larger package – it's a well-designed work system for professionals who demand repeatability, effectiveness and economic efficiency. One purchase lasts an entire season, eliminating downtime caused by lack of essential maintenance products.

Key properties of Air Filter Cleaner

The product combines effectiveness with filter safety. The unique formula was designed for maximum regeneration without risk of damage.

  • Molecular breakdown technology – active ingredients penetrate the foam structure at a microscopic level, breaking bonds between oil and contaminants.
  • Foam and mounting protection – doesn't attack polyurethane or construction adhesives, allowing filters to maintain integrity through dozens of cleaning cycles.
  • Rapid action – three to four minutes of soaking are enough for complete contaminant penetration, eliminating the need for mechanical scrubbing.
  • Intake flow optimization – the filter regains original permeability, providing the engine with optimal air volume and full power.
  • Extreme tested – formula tested by MXGP teams, where one filter undergoes full regeneration after every training session.

Who is this product for?

The 5 l package is a solution dedicated to professional users or those intensively using vehicles. Motorcycle workshops and service centers, where regenerating a dozen filters weekly is standard, will appreciate a large package eliminating the risk of running out and lowering unit costs. Racing teams and sports teams, where the filter is serviced after every session, need at least 5 l as operational backup for a team with several motorcycles. Quad and enduro motorcycle rental companies, with dozens of vehicles on offer and hundreds of operating hours weekly, run filter maintenance as a continuous process.

Multiple vehicle owners — three motorcycles plus two quads in the garage mean regular cleaning of five filters, and a larger package means savings and guaranteed availability. Motocross instructors and coaches intensively using training motorcycles in dusty environments need frequent maintenance without shopping breaks, and the 5 l format perfectly meets these requirements.

When to reach for air filter cleaning fluid?

Effective filter maintenance is a key element in keeping a vehicle fleet in full working order. Here are the moments when this product is essential.

  • After every training session – in motorsport, the filter is regenerated after every practice, because skipping this step risks damaging an engine worth tens of thousands.
  • As part of service maintenance – workshops offering comprehensive maintenance always include filter regeneration, as it's an element building the reputation of a detail-oriented service.
  • Before the season starts – rental companies preparing their fleet always regenerate all filters as part of standard procedure.
  • As a workshop inventory item – every professional workshop maintains stock of key products, and the 5 l package is an item that should always be available.

Integration with the OC1 system

Air Filter Cleaner 5 l is part of the complete care system offered by OC1. For maximum effectiveness and filter longevity, we recommend using it together with OC1 Air Filter Oil. After regeneration, the filter must be saturated with oil. The OC1 system guarantees that the cleaning product leaves no residue affecting oil adhesion.

Professionals know that system effectiveness depends on the quality of every element. Using products from different sources introduces a variable that can affect process repeatability. The OC1 system guarantees predictable results.

1. Prepare work station

Set up a dedicated bucket or container with minimum 5 l capacity (preferably OC1 bucket). Ensure access to clean water – it will be needed for rinsing. Prepare chemical-resistant gloves – the product is strong and requires skin protection. Organize a space for drying filters – a ventilated area with hanging capability.

2. Initial filter cleaning

Remove the filter from the motorcycle and remove loose mechanical contaminants – sand, mud clumps, twigs. Use a soft brush or air blower (low pressure!). Don't scrub aggressively – this is only preliminary removal of loose dirt.

3. Preparing the cleaning bath

Pour Air Filter Cleaner into the container. Do not dilute with water – the product works most effectively at full concentration. In workshop conditions, several filters are often cleaned simultaneously – adjust the amount of product proportionally.

4. Soaking filters

Submerge filters completely in the product. Make sure each filter is covered with liquid. Leave for 3-4 minutes. This is the time when the formula penetrates the foam structure and dissolves contaminants. Don't shorten this time – haste means incomplete cleaning.

5. Mechanical assistance in releasing dirt

Put on chemical-resistant gloves (this is not optional, it's mandatory!). Gently knead the filter, helping to release dissolved contaminants. Motion like squeezing a sponge – squeeze, release, squeeze. Never wring the filter – this will damage the foam structure and delaminate the mounting adhesive.

6. Basic rinsing

Rinse the filter in warm water, squeezing out dissolved contaminants. Repeat until the water is relatively clean. This is the stage of removing the main mass of dirt and product.

7. Final rinsing

Rinse the filter in cold, clean water until the water is completely clear. This is a crucial step – product residues may react with filter oil, reducing its effectiveness. Thoroughness at this stage translates to final quality.

8. Controlled drying

Place filters in a ventilated, shaded location. In workshop conditions, a hanger system or air dryers (not heated!) work best. Complete drying is a condition for oil saturation – damp foam won't absorb oil properly. Drying time: 4-8 hours depending on conditions.

Important

Working temperature: Use the product at 15-25°C for optimal effectiveness

Always work in chemical-resistant gloves – the formula is aggressive to skin

Don't let the product dry on the filter – it may leave difficult-to-remove residue

Never use the product on hot filters – they may deform

Tip

In intensive work conditions (e.g. during multi-day competitions) you can speed up filter drying using a low-pressure air blower. Place the filter on a mesh and gently blow through – you'll cut drying time in half. However, never use hot air – temperatures above 40°C may damage the foam structure.

For workshops servicing many vehicles, we recommend a rotation system: while one batch of filters dries, another is being cleaned. This maximizes workstation efficiency and eliminates downtime.

Used product contains dissolved oils and contaminants. Don't reuse it – effectiveness drops dramatically. In professional conditions where process repeatability is key, each regeneration requires fresh product.

How many filters can I clean from one 5 l package?

From a 5 l package you can perform approximately 83-125 filter regenerations, depending on their size and contamination level. A standard enduro motorcycle filter requires approximately 40-60 ml of product. For a workshop servicing 10-15 filters weekly, this is a supply sufficient for 2-3 months of intensive work. Larger filters (e.g. quad) may require more product.

Can I use the same product to clean subsequent filters?

We don't recommend reusing the cleaning liquid. During the first regeneration, the liquid becomes saturated with dissolved oil and contaminants, which drastically reduces its effectiveness. In professional applications where process repeatability is key, each batch of filters should be cleaned with fresh product. This guarantees consistent service quality.

What is the difference between the 1 l and 5 l package besides capacity?

Besides the obvious difference in capacity, the 5 l package offers significantly lower unit cost per liter of product. This makes it an economical choice for professional and intensive users. The formula remains identical – it's the same cleaner, just in a more economically efficient format. Additionally, less frequent orders mean lower logistics costs and work continuity assurance.

Is the cleaner suitable for cleaning cotton filters (e.g. K&N)?

Air Filter Cleaner was designed specifically for foam filters used in off-road motorcycles. Cotton filters (K&N type) have a different structure and require dedicated products. Using this product on cotton filters may not give optimal results and potentially affect their durability. For cotton filters, we recommend products specific to this type of material.

How long can an opened cleaner container be stored?

A properly closed container maintains full effectiveness for minimum 24 months from opening, provided it's stored at 5-25°C, away from direct sunlight. Tightening the cap after each use is crucial – solvent evaporation reduces product effectiveness. In workshop conditions where the 5 l package is used regularly, it's typically consumed before the warranty period expires.

Can I dilute the product with water to extend its lifespan?

We categorically don't recommend diluting the air filter cleaner. The formula has been precisely balanced for optimal effectiveness in its pure form. Dilution with water will reduce cleaning efficiency, which may lead to incomplete filter regeneration. In professional environments where process quality must be repeatable, any product modifications introduce variables that reduce service procedure reliability.

What is the optimal way to dispose of used product?

Used product contains dissolved oils and petroleum-based contaminants. Don't pour it directly into drains or soil. In workshop conditions, it should be treated as chemical waste and delivered to an authorized industrial waste collection point. Small amounts (after dilution with water during filter rinsing) can be safely drained to sewage. Compliance with local chemical disposal regulations is mandatory.

Is the cleaner safe for special coatings (e.g. anodized)?

Yes, the Air Filter Cleaner formula is safe for anodized and painted surfaces that may come into contact with the product during filter cleaning. It doesn't damage aluminum filter frames, anodized mounting clamps or painted air filter housings. This is important in professional contexts where accidental contact of the product with other motorcycle components is unavoidable.

How often do motorsport teams regenerate filters?

In professional motorsport (MXGP, Enduro GP) filters are regenerated after each training or racing session – often daily. In extreme sandy or muddy conditions even several times a day. This shows how critical product availability is and how quickly it can be consumed under intensive use. A 5 l package in such an environment is an absolute minimum.

Can I use the air filter cleaner at low temperatures (in winter)?

The product maintains effectiveness at temperatures above 5°C. At lower temperatures its viscosity increases and penetration effectiveness decreases. If you work in an unheated workshop in winter, we recommend storing the product at room temperature and using it in a warmed space. The filter should also be at room temperature before cleaning – cold foam absorbs the product less effectively.

How long does the full regeneration process for one filter take?

The cleaning process itself (soaking + rinsing) takes approximately 10-15 minutes per filter. However, full regeneration also requires complete drying, which takes 4-8 hours depending on conditions. In workshop conditions, a rotation system is used: a batch of filters is cleaned in the morning, dries during the day, and is ready for oil saturation and customer delivery in the evening. This allows efficient time management.

What is the difference between this product and ordinary industrial solvents?

Ordinary solvents (e.g. naphtha, extraction benzene) are not designed to work with delicate polyurethane foam. They may dissolve mounting adhesive, weaken foam structure or leave residues that block pores. Air Filter Cleaner is a specialist formula that effectively dissolves contaminants without attacking the filter material. It's the difference between "works" and "works safely and repeatably" – crucial in professional applications.
