Long-lasting protection and fresh look without effort
Faded rubber elements and plastic covers are not just an aesthetic problem. Loss of color and shine is the first signal that materials are losing their protective properties. UV radiation, changing weather conditions, moisture and chemicals gradually destroy rubber and plastic surfaces, shortening their lifespan by up to half. Rubber Shine is more than an ordinary aircraft polish - it's professional protection that not only restores appearance but actually protects surfaces from further degradation.
Used by service teams in sport aviation, but created for every aircraft owner who wants to keep their equipment in great condition without monthly visits to the aviation service center. Just 5 minutes is enough for rubber elements and plastics to look like new - no scrubbing, no complicated application techniques, no greasy residue that attracts dirt.
Main polish properties
What distinguishes Rubber Shine from dozens of similar products on the aviation market? Above all, technology that combines effectiveness with ease of use.
- Hydrophobic coating with pearl effect – creates an invisible barrier that makes water roll off in drops like from a lotus leaf, keeping surfaces clean up to twice as long.
- Antistatic properties – unlike popular greasy polishing products, Rubber Shine doesn't attract dust like a magnet, because dirt simply has nothing to stick to.
- Color refreshing – faded elements regain color intensity without a cheap, artificial shine effect thanks to penetration of microscopic surface irregularities.
- UV filter slowing aging – creates a protective layer that filters harmful UV radiation, significantly slowing the fading and cracking process of materials.
- Colorless formula without streaks or stains – leaves no white residue on dark surfaces or dark marks on light elements.

Who is this polish for?
Rubber Shine was created for everyone who wants their machine to look great without spending a fortune on regular service visits. Sport and ultralight aircraft owners will appreciate that after each flight, rubber elements and plastic covers receive not only cleaning but protection that makes removing dirt much easier during the next wash. Private aircraft owners gain a way to extend component lifespan by up to 30–50%, which is particularly important for machines parked outdoors. Those who value aesthetics and detailing in aviation get a "showroom look" effect in minutes: deep color, natural shine, no streaks.
Weekend and recreational users can enjoy protection that lasts for several weeks after one application, repelling everyday dirt and making it easy to quickly refresh appearance before each flight. Workshops and aviation service centers receive a professional product that allows offering clients top-level detailing service, and the economical 450 ml package is enough for servicing a dozen or so aircraft.

1. Surface preparation
Start with thorough washing of rubber and plastic elements. Use a cleaning agent (ideally OC1 Aircraft Cleaner) to remove dirt, atmospheric dust, old product residue and contamination. Rinse thoroughly with water and leave to dry completely. Extremely important: apply the product only on dry surfaces - moisture will prevent proper bonding of active ingredients with the material.
2. Shaking the bottle
Before each use, shake the bottle vigorously for 5-10 seconds. Active ingredients may partially settle at the bottom during storage, and shaking ensures even consistency and maximum product effectiveness. If the bottle has been standing for more than a month, shake it twice with a 10-second break between attempts.
3. Product application
Spray the surface from a distance of approximately 15-20 cm. Don't overdo the amount - a thin layer works better than a thick one. For one rubber element, 2-3 sprays are enough, for a plastic cover 3-4. If you see dripping drops, that's a sign you've used too much product. Work section by section - first rubber elements, then plastic covers. This way you have control over the process and won't forget any element.
4. Spreading and polishing
Immediately after spraying, spread the product with a clean microfiber cloth using even, circular motions. Active ingredients begin bonding with the surface within seconds, so don't delay. Polish until you achieve an even, semi-matte shine. You don't need to reach a perfect gleam - the product will do its job during drying. In hard-to-reach places use a smaller cloth or applicator sponge.
5. Drying time
Leave the aircraft to dry for approximately 10-15 minutes at room temperature. Don't expose it to rain immediately or start flying - the ingredients need time to fully bond with the surface. After drying, you can gently wipe the surface with a clean, dry cloth to remove any excess product and achieve the final effect.
Important
Application temperature - never apply the product on hot surfaces (after sun exposure, on hot days). Optimal temperature is 15-25°C. On colder days (below 10°C) the product may dry longer - extend drying time to 20-25 minutes.
Avoid critical surfaces - although the product is safe for most surfaces, it should not contact surfaces requiring maximum cleanliness (e.g. sensors, antennas). If you accidentally sprayed such elements, immediately wipe them with a clean cloth.
Storage - keep the bottle at 5-25°C, away from direct sunlight. After use, tighten the sprayer to prevent product drying. Do not freeze - after thawing the product may lose its properties.
Clothing protection - although the product doesn't leave permanent stains, it may leave greasy marks on light clothing. Work in gloves or wash your hands thoroughly after application.
Tip
Application frequency - for optimal protection, apply the product every 3-4 weeks or after each thorough aircraft wash. If the aircraft is frequently exposed to sun (outdoor parking), shorten this interval to 2-3 weeks. Regularity is key - better to apply often and thin than rarely and thick.
Pro tip for maximum effect - if you want to achieve a "wet look" effect instead of semi-matte finish, apply a thin second layer of product 2-3 minutes after the first application. The second layer will increase shine intensity and additionally strengthen hydrophobic protection. Remember however that such effect will be more prone to dust settling.
Professional technique for rubber elements - to achieve absolutely even effect on rubber elements, professionals use a small applicator sponge instead of a cloth. Soak the sponge with product and apply it in circular motions. This way the product evenly penetrates all crevices and surface irregularities.
Can Rubber Shine be used on all types of plastic used in aircraft?
Yes, the product is safe for all types of plastics used in aviation - polycarbonate, ABS, polypropylene, vinyl, polyethylene and fiberglass. You can apply it on painted and unpainted covers, mudguards, seals, trim elements. Also safe for carbon surfaces and anodized aluminum. It doesn't cause discoloration, cracking or dulling of transparent elements.
How long does the protective effect last after one application?
Under normal usage conditions, the protective effect lasts 3-4 weeks, surviving 2-3 aircraft washes. If the aircraft is operated mainly in dry conditions and parked in a hangar, protection can last up to 6 weeks. With frequent outdoor parking (intense sun exposure, rain, humidity) the effect may shorten to 2-3 weeks. The hydrophobic coating gradually weakens but doesn't disappear suddenly - you'll notice water stops beading as intensely, which signals time for reapplication.
Does the product leave greasy marks on plastic elements?
No - this is one of the main advantages of Rubber Shine compared to competing products. The formula has a low viscosity coefficient and after drying creates a thin, almost invisible protective layer without a greasy effect. Plastics won't be slippery to touch, and dirt and dust won't stick to them like with popular greasy products. After proper application and drying, surfaces are dry and pleasant to touch, with a natural, semi-matte shine.
Is Rubber Shine safe for aluminum and painted elements?
Yes, the product is completely safe for aluminum elements (both unpainted and lacquered), painted plastics, chrome elements and all painted surfaces. It contains no solvents or acids that could damage paint or cause metal corrosion. You can apply it on various structural elements without worrying about discoloration or dulling.
Do I need to dilute Rubber Shine before use?
No, Rubber Shine is a ready-to-use product and requires no dilution. Apply it directly from the bottle with sprayer, exactly as it is. Diluting with water or other substances will destroy its protective properties and chemical balance of ingredients. If the product seems too thick or too watery, that's a sign it wasn't shaken enough before use - active ingredients may have partially settled. Vigorous shaking of the bottle will restore proper consistency.
How often should the product be applied for optimal protection?
For standard users, we recommend application every 3-4 weeks or after each thorough aircraft wash. If the aircraft is frequently parked outdoors (intense sun exposure, humidity), shorten to 2-3 weeks. For aircraft stored in hangars and used occasionally, application every 4-6 weeks is sufficient. The key indicator is observing the water beading effect - when you notice water stops rolling off in drops and starts "spreading" on the surface, that's a sign the protective coating is weakening and new application is needed.
Can Rubber Shine be used in winter at low temperatures?
Yes, the product can be applied at temperatures from approximately 5°C and above. On colder days (5-10°C) extend drying time to 20-25 minutes and perform application in a wind-sheltered location, preferably in a hangar. Don't apply at temperatures below 0°C - active ingredients won't bond properly with the surface. After application and drying, the protective coating is resistant to frost down to -25°C, so you can safely store the aircraft in winter without worrying about protection damage. Store the bottle at room temperature - frozen product may lose some of its properties.
What to do if I accidentally sprayed sensors or important technical elements?
Immediately wipe the elements with a clean cloth. If you have access to a specialized cleaning agent (dedicated electronics cleaner or isopropanol), use it to thoroughly clean the surface. For sensors or optical elements, always exercise extra caution during application. Rubber Shine itself isn't harmful to electronics, but it may temporarily interfere with the operation of optical sensors or other precision devices.
Can the product be used on rubber seals?
Yes, Rubber Shine is excellent for protecting rubber seals used in aircraft. Particularly useful for door seals, cabin seals that quickly lose elasticity due to UV exposure and changing weather conditions. It polishes and protects rubber, extends its lifespan and elasticity. Regular use can extend seal life by up to 30-40%.
Can I start flying immediately after applying Rubber Shine?
For best results, wait approximately 10-15 minutes after application before taking off. Active ingredients need time to fully bond with the surface and form a durable protective coating. Taking off immediately after application isn't dangerous, but may cause some product to be "blown off" by the airflow before it dries, reducing protection effectiveness. If you're in a real hurry, the absolute minimum is 5 minutes of drying at room temperature.
How to store Rubber Shine to maintain its properties?
Store the bottle at 5-25°C, in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. After each use, tighten the sprayer to prevent product drying and air entering the bottle. Do not freeze - thawed product may lose some of its chemical properties. Properly stored product maintains full effectiveness for a minimum of 24 months from production date. If you notice the product has changed consistency or color, don't use it - contact the seller regarding replacement.
Is Rubber Shine environmentally safe?
Rubber Shine is a professional product whose formula was developed with maximum effectiveness in mind while maintaining usage safety standards. After application and drying, the product forms a durable coating that doesn't wash off entirely into the environment at first water contact. Use responsibly, don't overuse quantities, wash the aircraft in designated places, in accordance with local regulations regarding aircraft equipment handling.
